6 Frugal Things I do daily.

6 frugal things I do daily

With the Christmas quickly approaching I look for anyway we can save. I thought I would tell you about the few things I do to save money.

1. Do you every wonder what are you going to do with all those hotel soaps or those half used travel sized bottles of body wash or shampoo. Get a container you are not using and throw all of those in it and put the container in the shower. So when you are tired of your current body wash or needing to replenish the old one this will save you from having to go and buy it.

2. You can also make your own foaming soap out of any type of liquid soap you may have laying around. Just recycle an foaming soap container or you can buy a nice one and add 1/4 soap and 3/4 water and shake and you now have foaming hand soap! It also makes your soap last longer. Another tip: if you buy bath and body works foaming hand soaps when it gets half way empty add water to the top and you have a full bottle again and the foam still comes out great!

3. I know I have mentioned meal planning before but it saves so much money. Plan meals for each day of the following week. Go shopping once a week and make the meals you planned. I recommend only planning for a week in advance because I have found doing more than that can get overwhelming and stressful.

4. Set a budget for holidays purchases. It is so easy to just spend like crazy for Christmas but if you plan out a set budget for each person you need to buy for then it keeps you from over spending. I also recommend when it is time to go shopping take the money out in cash that way there is no possible way you can over spend on cash.

5. Also don’t put Christmas purchases on a credit card! Who wants to wake up on December 26th remembering of the big fat credit card bill they will be getting in the mail.

6. Last but not least: be content. In the society we live in due to social media it is almost a must to have to keep up with the Joneses. It hard when we see people on social media post pictures of there fancy vacations or there outlandish purchases not to envy them or feel the need to keep up with them. I have done that, but when we are grateful and content with what we have then keeping up with everyone else will seem silly. I believe God will bless someone who is grateful and content more. Think about it would you want to help someone who was grateful or who was self centered and wanted a hand out.
