So back in January I have made a challenge to myself not to buy any clothes for a entire year! So I thought now since we are almost in June that I would check in with you and let you know how I am doing. Though I have gotten tired of wearing the same things over and over at times, I would say I have done pretty good. You see for me the challenge for me wasn’t about stoping buying clothes completely but more about cutting way back on buying clothes and becoming content with what we already have in our closet. You see most women are like me and have way more clothes than what they need and most of them only wear about 25 percent of those clothes.
So how have I done? Have I bought clothes and the answer to that would be yes. So most of those clothing purchases have been during special occasions. So yes I have bought clothes but it has been extermely less than before. I went from spending a couple of hunderd on clothes to spending less than $30 on clothes. You all contentment is a blessing from God! There is nothing wrong with buying nice things for yourself but those things will become less important when you stop focusing on them, it takes retraining your mind on how you see “stuff”. It is nice to have nice things but how important are they? They are as important as we make them. You see what we focus on is what becomes important to us. So you see this challenge is’nt about stopping buying clothes but more about becoming content with what we already have
